I firmly believe that the first step to improving performance, to improving achievement, and to improving success is closing our most pressing performance gaps… which is the gap between what we know and what we do.

I’m 47 years old… and when I was a kid… I was told by everyone – my parents, my coaches, my teachers – that knowledge is power.

But that’s not true.

Well, it’s at least incomplete.

Power doesn’t come from knowledge; it comes from the application of that knowledge.

It comes from action. It comes from doing. It comes from applying.

Knowledge by itself or knowledge unapplied is completely useless.

So the cornerstone of high performance, achievement, and success is the ability to gain quality knowledge and then act on it! It’s about doing what you know you should do… in every area of your life… every… single… day.

I understand this is a very basic concept.

But that doesn’t mean it isn’t true!

After all, the basics work… they always have… and they always will!
